 |
The MASTERBOX Series included two plastic enclosures for 5-module and 3-module distribution assemblies for consruction sites.
The MASTERBOX Series has been designed to meet the requirements of the CEI 17-13/4, European standard EN 60439-4, (IEC 439-4), which corresponds to the international standard IEC 439-4. |
| The MASTERBOX Series therefore falls into the class of mass-produced and assembled equipment for use on construction sites. MASTERBOX distribution assemblies are classed as final distribution ACS to which power tools and other construction site equipment can be connected. |

Mineral oils and greases, naphtha, alcohol, aqueous solutions of inorganic salts, weak inorganic acids, alkaline solutions.
- Fair resistance to:
Halogenated hydrocarbons, strong oxidising agents, petrol and benzine, especially at high temperatures.
- Protection degree:
IP66 (a quadro assiemato)
- Double electric insulation

- Conformity to standards:
EN 60439-1 and EN 60439-4
APPLICATIONS

MASTERBOX distribution assemblies are suitable for specific use on medium-sized construction sites, in heavy indusry, agriculture, and weathering and chemicals are required.
TESTING
The MASTERBOX Series distribution assemblies have been tested according to the standards EN 60439-4 (1992) at the Italian Electrotechnical Testing Centre, - CESI with favourable results.
STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Consumer units:
Protection devices (MCBs and RCDs) are housed in separate boxes.
The MASTERBOX 3 container is fitted with one consumer unit for 13 DIN modules and MASTERBOX 5 is fitted with two consumer units for 26 DIN modules in total.
- Extra low voltage:
16 A ADVANCE Series interlocked-switch sockets with 150 VA or 300 VA isolating transformers having 220-250/24V ratio can be installed for the supply of safety extra low voltage (SELV).
- Power cut-out:
General power cut-out provided by automatic circuit breaker or isolator.
- Power supply:
The cabinet may be fitted externally with a 32, 63 or 125 A appliance inlet to connect the power Through this inlet the cabinet can be connected quickly and safely to the electric poqer supply.
- In - out:
On demand, MASTERBOX Series cabinets come with a kit for "in - out" connection, for the purpose of supplying numbers of distribution assemblies connected in parallel on a single electric line.
The terminal blocks provided have the following cross section:
- 16mm²
- 35mm²
- 70mm²
Please apply to your SCAME dealer for further details.
COMPONENTS

1 - Cable entry
Cable glands type PG 36 are provided at the cable inlet as a standard. Adaptors for PG 29 and PG 21 are included in the accessories supplied with the cabinet.
2 - Power supply appliance inlet
The cabinet may be fitted with a 32, 63 or 125 A appliance inlet to avoid continuous and repetitive cabling for quick jobs on the construction site.
3 - Terminal block 25mm² (35mm² 100A)
The may terminal block is housed in a separate compartment, accessible only by using a tool. Wiring up is simple, but requires a skilled person.
4 - Cable clamp
A cable clamp is provided at the power cable inlet to prevent mechanical stresses from demaging the efficiency of the electric connection to the terminals of the cabinet.
5 - Earthing
An external terminal for the earthing lead is provided for easier wiring and regular testing of the condition of the connection.
6 - Installation
Two mounting brackets are provided on the rear of the cabinet for hanging from a wall or mounting on a stand. The mounting brackets ere included in the accessories supplied in the same packing.
7 - Portability
Hand grips are provided in the side panels of the cabinet for easier carrying. The assembly must first be disconnected from the power supply. WARNING: it is extremely dangerous to move it when live.
8 - Rating di targa
All data regarding SCAME's MASTERBOX assemblies are inscribed on plates fixed inside the doors.
9 - Documentation
Every MASTERBOX cabinet contains a foldetr with a declaration of compliance with standards and a wiring diagram.
It is good practive to keep a copy of the declaration of compliance of the electrical system as certifield by a qualifield installer and copy of any drawings and layouts in the same folder .
10 - Boxes for protection devices
The boxes have DIN rails for installing protection devices, a transparent, anti-glare, tinted window and locks with a triangular key. IP 66 is ensured when the cover is locked.
11 - Door
The door also locks with a triangular key, to prevent access by unauthorised person.
The cabinet can be closed even after plugging in, since the bottom is an open frame which lets the cables througt.
MASTERBOX 3 is fitted with one door and
MASTERBOX 5 with two.
FUSE TESTER

The fuses can be tested on a special device inside the cabinet.
- 9V battery (not supplied)
- Battery life > 3 years
- Supplied whenever sockets with fuse protection have been fitted)
EARTHING TERMINAL
Located on the right side of the cabinet, it allows connection of the earth lead via a cable and with an ø8mm eyelet.
EMERGENCY PUSH BUTTON

Optional fittings
Version with emergency push button and status lamp.
Status lamp
Status lamp turned on:
Functioning regulary
Status lamp turned off:
Fault
- Emergency push button has been pushed (check the installation before re-starting)
- No power at the installation (main switch open or loss of electrical supply)
- Burnt out bulb
(replace it with an identical model; use only neon bulbs)
FINAL DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY ACS

Série DOMINO 12 DIN - IP55
Distribution assembly intended for the main power supply cable protection in a building site.
In particular protects the part of the cable that runs from the electrical supply to the building site's distrybution assembly.
It should be installed at the beginning of the line, just downstream of the power supply outlet.
1 - Main power supply
2 - Domino 12 DIN (fam. 671)
3 - Main cable supply > 3 meter
4 - Masterbox
POWER SUPPLY APPLIANCE INLET
MASTERBOX assemblies can be supplied through a cable connected to the terminal block or by plugging the connector into the appliance inlet, depending on the type of cabinet.
The cable must be of a suitable size No wiring up is required if the cabinet is fitted with an appliance inlet.
MECHANICAL LOCKING DEVICE

A lockable device is available on demand. This prevents the connector being removed from the appliance inlet on the MASTERBOX cabinet, thereby ensuring that no unauthorised person is able to disconnect the cabinet.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE SOCKET OUTLETS
The circuits are easy to identify as all the protection devices and sockets are numbered.
WINDOWS OF THE PROTECTION AND CONTROL DEVICES COMPARTMENT
They all lock with a triangular key to prevent access by unauthorised persons.
POWER CUT-OFF
Every assembly is provided with a cut-off device for protection and isolation from the power supply when is open position.
SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT
For a correct use of MASTERBOX assemblies the installer must check that the assumed short-circuit current at the connection point to the assembly is less that or equal to the cut-off device's breacking capacity.
SIMULTANEITY FACTOR
In consideration of the fact that not all circuits are used at their full rated current during normal service, SCAME's distribution assemblies have been designed for a simultaneity factor of 5.5 to 0.7, depending on the type of assembly.
SERIAL NUMBER
Each distribution assembly has a serial number which also appears on the declaration of compliance.
